Logs

See what your services print, live.

Everything your services print to stdout and stderr is collected.

grey logs # the last 100 lines of every service
grey logs -f # keep streaming new lines
grey logs --service api # one service
grey logs -n 500 # more history
03:16:07 api │ 2026/11/05 02:16:07 listening on :3000
03:16:08 api │ greyship: api listens on port 3000; serving it on its URL

JSON log lines (for example from log/slog's JSON handler) are shown as LEVEL message key=value. In the dashboard, Logs shows the same, with filters by service and level and a live mode.

  • Logs are kept for 1 day.
  • A service printing more than 1,000 lines a second has the extra lines counted and replaced by one note, so one noisy app can't drown the rest.
  • Lines longer than 4 KB are cut.

Build and deploy logs

Every deployment has its own log: detection, the build, the release command, instances starting, and why it failed if it did. grey deploy streams it; the dashboard keeps it on the deployment's page.
